BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM BSS

BSS received a variety of feedback about the location of the British Championships earlier this year. As a result, a process has been underway to evaluate the options for venue for the 2011 British Championships. A variety of locations are currently providing information to BSS which will assist the BSS Board meeting in September to determine where the 2011 and later Championships should be held. However, the FIS Calendar requires submission of entries by 1^st September. A “place holder” entry will appear suggesting that the British Championships will be held in Meribel in late March and early April.

Please note that this is simply a placeholder and may change when the decision is made later in September. The actual location for the event will be published by the end of the month subject of course to contractual agreement being reached.

SNOWSPORT SCOTLAND INDOOR SCOTTISH CHAMPS
31 OCTOBER 2010

The Snowsport Scotland Indoor Scottish Champs have now been scheduled for Sunday 31 October 2010 at Sno!Zone, Braehead. The races are open to all age categories from Bairns through to Senior. Please note that every racer, except for Bairns, must be registered as a competitor with a Home Nation Governing Body to take part. The champs will consist of two slalom runs. The Champs cost £30, with an extra £4 due if a non-member Bairn to cover insurance.

Due to the popularity of the team dual slalom fun races at last years champs, these will once again follow the conclusion of the slalom races. Teams should be made up of 6 racers and entry (for free) will be taken on the day of the event.

SNOWSPORT SCOTLAND SCOTTISH FREESTYLE SERIES

The Snowsport Scotland Scottish Freestyle Series is returning for another year this winter. Over the last couple of years it has become a staple part of the Scottish winter with many up and coming riders cutting their teeth there before heading on to the British Snow Tour, Westbeach Series and the Brits.

This year Snowsport Scotland are pleased to announce that SNO!Zone will continue their support of UK freeskiing and snowboarding and are now the Title Partners for the Scottish Freestyle Series. In addition to this SNO!Zone will also be hosting the Scottish Indoor Championships in February, linking the dryslope Lowlander and the snow Highlander events.
