There are around 34 clubs affiliated to Snowsport Scotland. Many of the original clubs which formed the organisation in 1963 are still active and involved in the running of the organisation. The clubs offer a wide range of facilities, opportunities and activities that are shown on the pages linked to this one. Individuals from the member clubs carry out many of the functions of Snowsport Scotland by contributing to race organisation and various committees.
All of the clubs offer different opportunities for their members and some clubs represent particular interests. Certain clubs have their own facilities for use by their members; these range from a garage/workshop for ski maintenance; a hut at one or more of the snow resorts and some have their own artificial slopes. To contact your chosen club, phone the contact telephone number given. Alternatively contact Snowsport Scotland and you will be given details of the clubs in your area or those that share your chosen interest.
One of the important functions of Snowsport Scotland is the arrangement of insurance for all of the club's members. Civil liability insurance is unfortunately becoming more important in sport in general and snowsports are no exception. For this reason alone, more individual skiers and snowboarders should take up membership of their local club and cover themselves for the worst scenarios.
Other benefits for members of clubs affiliated to Snowsport Scotland include; discount winter sports insurance, access to Snowsport Scotland courses and eligibility to participate in Club and National ski races.
