SNOWSPORT SCOTLAND COURSE LIST

As part of the British Snowsport Coaching Awards Scheme, Snowsport Scotland offer qualifications in three areas: Instructor Awards, Leader Awards and Coaching Awards.

Instructor Awards

Snowsport Scotland run Instructor courses for Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding. These qualifications are designed to train and asess responsible skiers and snowboarders who are primarily interested in instructing alpine skiing or snowboarding on artificial surfaces (dry mat and indoor snow facilities).

SSS / BASI Level 1 Ski Instructor
SSS / BASI Level 1 Snowboard Instructor

Leader Awards

Leader Awards are offered for Alpine Skiing, Snowboarding and Nordic Skiing. A Mountain Ski Leader Award is also available for skillful skiers and experienced winter mountaineers who wish to lead others on mountain ski tours.

The Alpine Ski Leader, Snowboard Leader and Nordic Ski Leader are primarily aimed at teachers, youth group leaders and other responsible adults who wish to develop, encourage and supervise young skiers and snowboarders.

Coaching Awards

Performance Coaching Qualifications are available for Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding. Level 1 courses are designed for coaches who work with entry level athletes, with Level 2 courses aimed at club coaching programme staff who work with athletes on a seasonal programme.

Other Courses

First Aid

Snowsport Scotland run First Aid courses, that meet the criteria for the Instructor, Leader and Coaching awards. These courses are available to members of the Snowsport Scotland Coaching Scheme and the public.
