Attention all competitors,

Competition is definitely on this weekend 17th-18th April at Cairngorm and its going be a clanger!

You saw it on at the Olympics, you thought it would be ace to have a go, Now's your Chance!

Registration online is open now at http://aberdeensnowsportsclub.org/Scottish-Snow-Cross-Championships.php or register on the day at the Cairngorm Tbar from 8.30am Saturday. Faster entry if you have registered online.

Cairngorm is doing 20% off full day tickets for adult competitors (thanks guys!) but you need to have checked in at registration on the day to be elligible for this discount.
Saturday is Qualification day, 2 timed runs which will determine your seeded position for finals on Sunday.
Finals are based on 32 men / 16 ladies / 4 competitors per heat or such other numbers as determined by the Jury.

Finals will be run according to a single knockout format.
The 1st and 2nd placed competitors from each heat advance from round to round. Place of finish is determined by the first part of the body, ski or snowboard that crosses the finish line.
Timing of races will be as follows, subject to change.

Saturday:

8.30 am -10am         Registration at T-Bar
9.00-10.30               Course Inspection
10.30                       Competitor Meeting
10.30-11.00              Course Closed for maintenance                                
11.00am                   Qualifiers Start                          

  • 11.00am Group A (8-11years, f/m, s/b)
  • 12.00pm Group B (30years +, f/m, s/b)
  • 1.00pm   Group C (12-15years, f/m, s/b)
  • 2.30pm  Group D (15-29years, f/m, s/b)

*Each group get 2 runs in a row, Bib collection at start line & returned after 2nd run at bottom.

Results from Qualification day will be posted at Ellis Brigham in Aviemore from 6.30pm on Saturday

Sunday: 

9.00-10.30           Course Inspection
10.30-11.00         Course Closed for maintenance
11.00am              Finals begin                  

  • 11.00am Group A (8-11years, f/m, s/b)
  • 12.00pm Group B (30years +, f/m, s/b)
  • 1.00pm   Group C (12-15years, f/m, s/b)
  • 2.30pm  Group D (15-29years, f/m, s/b)

5.00pm                 Awards Ceremony          T-Bar Cafe

Course is getting built as we speak at the top of the ptarmigan and the weather is looking bonnie for the weekend.
