Snowsport Scotland is the National Governing Body for all snowsports that take place on snow and artificial slopes in Scotland.![]()
These include: snowboarding, alpine, freestyle and nordic skiing. The Scottish National Ski Council was formed in 1963 by the Scottish Clubs to represent their needs and co-ordinate certain activities, and was renamed Snowsport Scotland (SNSC) in 1998.
Snowsport Scotland is a limited company that receives income from its membership, through specialist services, activities and development grant funding from Sport Scotland (formerly the Scottish Sports Council).
All of the activities of Snowsport Scotland are focused on the needs and interests of the membership and the wider skiing and snowboarding community. Examples of this are promotion of clubs, safety campaigns, members insurance, coaching courses, managing national teams, co-ordinating races, consultation with potential developments and environmental campaigns.
