COMPETITIONS

We organise and support many competitions in Alpine, Snowboard, Freestyle and Nordic from grassroots through to International Standard. Taking place year round on artificial slopes and snow in Scotland, and in the Alps, there is something for everyone whether you are just starting out on the road to success, or an experienced competitior.

All upcoming competitions can be found in our Competitions Calendar, and recent results in our Competitions Results section.

Many of our competitions require you to be a registered competitior with us. See the Membership section for further details.

To get involved one of the best places to start is through contacting your local club as found in our Clubs section.

RACING

We support both the British Alpine Seeding System (BASS) and British Artificial Seeding System (BARTS) in the provision of seeded races for Alpine Skiing. Races are broken down into 4 categories, Downhill, Super G, Giant Slalom, and Slalom, and we organise races throughout the year. Competitors take part in various events as determined by their age category.

On the back of the success of snowcross at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics we now organise events in this exciting new sport. 4 competitors race over a course of turns and jumps with the best progressing through the rounds to the finals. Check out the next snowcross event and get involved.

We also support Snowboard racing in slalom. For further details Contact Us.

FREESTYLE

We run the Lowlander and Highlander competitions for both skiers and snowboarders in an extensive freestyle competition programme under the banner of the Sno!Zone Scottish Freestyle Series. There are 4 comps on artificial slopes and 2 on snow and include the Scottish Freestyle Championships. Read more

We also run a showcase event in the run up to Christmas "The Edinburgh Invitational". In 2010 this event took the format of a rail jam on the natural snow available within Princes St. Gardens with the Edinburgh Castle as the backdrop. The best up and coming riders competed for a large cash prizes and the prestige of winning. We plan to run a bigger and better event each year so watch this space!

NORDIC

Nordic events (rollerski and on-snow) take place throughout the year in Scotland and the rest of the UK for those interested in taking part in cross-country skiing, or learning more about the discipline. On-snow events include the famous ‘Clash Dash’ usually held in February on the Clashindarroch Forest Ski Trails and the main rollerski events take place as part of the GB Rollerski Series.
