MEMBERSHIP

We have 3 main streams of membership available with Snowsport Scotland - Clubs, Coaching Scheme and Competition. Becoming a member through any of these streams gives access to our Members Area where you will find information on our member benefits, and the option of joining our Members Lottery which gives the chance of winning cash and special prizes. All members receive third party worldwide civil liability insurance.

CLUBS

As the heartbeat of our Snowsports society our clubs provide the grassroots development and social/recreational opportunities for Snowsports enthusiasts. We have clubs that specialise in Alpine, Snowboard, Nordic and Freestyle, and are committed to providing excellent coaching, and some that have been formed for the social aspects. COACHING SCHEME

Membership of our coaching scheme is available for all candidates doing a Snowsport Scotland course (see Courses). Essential to attend a course, and must then be paid every year to keep a qualification valid. Currently the coaching scheme year is fixed and ends on 30 September every year. Our coaching scheme registration form is available in Forms and Resources, and our Terms and Conditions in Policies.

For prospective members applying for the joint SSS/BASI Level 1 Ski or Snowboard Instructor there is joint membership of Snowsport Scotland's coaching scheme and BASI valid for the first year. The prices are noted on the registration form.

COMPETITION

Competitor Registration is necessary for all BASS and BARTS competitiors and for those athletes needing to obtain a FIS licence. It is also a requirement to be a member of a Scottish club to become a competitor (see clubs). The membership year runs to 26 October every year and registration forms are available in Forms and Resources.
