British Association of Ski Patrollers (BASP) Partnership

September 2023 will see the launch of a new collaborative initiative between the Governing Body for snowsports in Scotland and the British Association of Ski Patrollers.

Working in partnership, the organisations plan to offer under 18’s the opportunity to learn about becoming a ski patroller, working in the Scottish mountain ski areas or abroad, looking after the safety of snowsports participants and responding to incidents.

The first year of this exciting new collaboration will offer under 18’s the opportunity to attend junior patroller taster days in east and west Scotland - more news will follow.

Alongside the Junior Patrol Project, Snowsport Scotland will be collaborating with BASP to provide first-aid training to its workforce of coaches, leaders and instructors and this will be supported by discounts for Snowsport Scotland members wishing to attend public BASP courses.

This is a welcomed collaboration and Chair of BASP, Christine Gillespie and Interim CEO of Snowsport Scotland, Iain Ramsay-Clapham are delighted to announce the new partnership that will hopefully bring both opportunity to youngsters, as well as mutual benefit to both organisations and their respective members.
