JOHN HYNES FUND
Created in honour of John Hynes, long-serving Head Coach and Manager at Hillend, provides financial support to help grow performance coaching within Scottish snowsports.
The fund offers up to 50% of course fees (maximum £250) for eligible applicants enrolling in Snowsport Scotland coaching qualifications. Its aim is to make high-quality coach education more accessible and to strengthen the future of skiing and snowboarding performance pathways across Scotland.

WOMEN & GIRLS COACH EDUCATION SUBSIDY
Snowsport Scotland has been awarded dedicated funding from sportscotland to help increase female participation in coach and instructor qualification pathways. This initiative aims to grow the number of qualified women working within Scottish skiing and snowboarding by tackling the key barriers that often limit involvement.
Our programme focuses on:
Increasing female representation across coaching and instructing roles
Reducing financial barriers for women and girls pursuing coach education
Supporting logistical challenges such as travel, expenses, and childcare needs
Eligible applicants can receive up to 50% funding towards course fees and associated costs.

ADAPTIVE SNOWSPORTS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT FUND
Snowsport Scotland has received funding from Arnold Clark to launch a new initiative that supports the development of para and adaptive snowsport coaches, leaders, and instructors. This funding aims to break down barriers for individuals seeking to build qualifications in adaptive snowsports, helping to grow a more inclusive and accessible snowsports community across Scotland.
We invite applications from:
Snowsport instructors/workers looking for financial support to complete qualifications in para/adaptive snowsport disciplines
Individuals pursuing relevant non-snowsport qualifications that enhance their ability to deliver adaptive snowsports experiences, such as BSL, Makaton, and similar skills
This funding opportunity is designed to strengthen the pathway for coaches and leaders who support disabled participants in Scottish skiing and snowboarding.

YOUNG PERSONS GRASSROOTS COACH & INSTRUCTOR EDUCATION SUBSIDY
Snowsport Scotland has been awarded funding from sportscotland to support participation by Young People (under the age of 25) in our Grassroots Coach & Instructor Qualification Courses.
Our goals are to reduce the dropout from snowsports and to increase the number of qualified instructors at Scottish Snowsports Facilities by:
Supporting young people to gain grassroots qualifications that directly boost participation.
Growing the entry-level workforce to reduce shortages across Scotland
Reducing sport dropout by giving young people clear roles and progression pathways.
Strengthening participation in clubs and facilities.
Supporting the rural Scottish Snowsports economy through a more resilient local workforce.
Eligible applicants can receive up to 50% funding towards course fees and associated costs.

SPECIAL MEMBERS FUND
The fund has been setup to provide funding assistance to clubs looking to purchase equipment to support coaching or increase participation numbers. Financial assistance is available to fund up to 50% of the total cost of equipment of capital projects for member clubs only.
Previous awards have been used to fund freestyle rails and features, stubbie gates for Alpine racing, and Alpine race bibs etc. Eligibility and application form can be found below:

CRAIG MACFIE FOUNDATION
The Craig Macfie Foundation serves as a means to honor, celebrate and remember Craig’s life while promoting causes close to his and his friends’ and family’s hearts. In keeping with Craig’s passion for skiing the primary focus of the foundation will be to promote and encourage the sport on both a local and national level.
A CMF LSRA Trainee Award is made anually along with an award made at the British Championships. The CMF Award is awarded to a male in the U21 or U18 age group, who has a passion for skiing (both racing and freeskiing), shows exceptional sportsmanship, who perserveres and continually strives to improve.
