KIRSTY MUIR DOMINATES XGAMES ASPEN
21-year-old Scottish freeskier secures X Games title with commanding display in Aspen
Kirsty Muir has delivered a sensational performance at the 2026 X Games in Aspen, Colorado, claiming her first X Games gold medal with a dominant victory in the Women's Freeski Slopestyle.
The 21-year-old Scot soared to the top of the podium on her opening run, posting a mammoth score of 93.66 that left the rest of the field trailing in her wake. With no other competitor able to break the 90-point barrier, Muir's first-run masterclass was enough to secure the title in a competition that had been delayed by 24 hours due to poor weather conditions.
The victory marks a significant milestone in Muir's career, having previously claimed bronze medals in both Slopestyle and Big Air at the 2023 X Games. This time, she went one better—twice.
Not content with one medal, Muir added a spectacular silver in the Women's Freeski Big Air, sealing second place with a massive left double 16 to finish just 0.66 points behind Switzerland's Mathilde Gremaud.
Muir's double-medal haul contributed to a stunning showing for the British contingent in Aspen, with Team GB claiming five medals across the event. The Scot became the third British athlete to stand atop the X Games podium this year, following Mia Brookes' victory in Women's Snowboard Slopestyle and Zoe Atkin's gold medal performance in the Women's Freeski Superpipe.
With the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina just weeks away, Muir's X Games success demonstrates she is arriving at the Games in exceptional form.
