New CPD Courses: Disability Inclusive Snowboarding Training for Instructors and Coaches

Snowsport Scotland is pleased to introduce two new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities specifically designed for qualified snowboard instructors and coaches. These on-slope training sessions aim to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver safe, inclusive, and adaptive snowboarding sessions.

Each course runs for 3 hours and focuses on building confidence and competence when working with diverse learners on the slopes.

Disability Inclusive Snowboarding: Physical Impairments

This session covers:

  • Understanding common physical impairments

  • Troubleshooting equipment challenges

  • Adapting the learning journey for individuals with physical disabilities

  • Gaining insight into the Para Snowboard performance pathway

Disability Inclusive Snowboarding: Additional Needs

This session includes:

  • Awareness of common conditions associated with additional support needs

  • Effective communication strategies

  • Practical tools to adapt learning experiences for inclusivity

These CPD sessions are open to instructors and coaches with Snowsport Scotland UKSS qualifications as well as those certified through other awarding bodies. Participants may also be eligible for funding support through the Adaptive Snowsports Workforce Development Fund.
