SCOTTISH ATHLETES ONCE AGAIN HIT NEW HIGHS ON THE WORLD STAGE
It has been a remarkable week for Scottish snowsports athletes, with podium finishes, historic breakthroughs and major milestones across World Cup and X Games competition.
Alpine skier Owen Vinter marked an important step in his career by making his World Cup debut in Crans Montana, lining up against the very best in the sport. The appearance represents a significant moment for the young Scot, gaining invaluable experience at the highest level of international alpine skiing.
In para snowboarding, Davy Zyw delivered an impressive performance at Big White, taking two silver medals in the Para Snowboard Cross (SBX), with support from Arnold Clark. The results come at a crucial time, with these races marking Zyw’s final competitions before selection is confirmed for the ParalympicsGB team. His consistency on the World Cup circuit will hopefully bring him his year longs journey to make it to the Winter Paralympics.
There was further success on the para alpine circuit, where Neil Simpson and his guide Rob Poth claimed another silver medal in Slalom at the World Cup Para Alpine event in Méribel. The duo have become regular contenders on the podium this season, and their latest result adds to an already outstanding list of medals.
This is fantastic momentum in the run up to the Winter Games starting on Friday!
