Copper Horse/GBR Series Wraps Up with British Dryslope Champs in Scotland

The weekend saw the British Alpine Dryslope Championships take place on Sunday at Hillend, preceded by the Copper Horse/GBR Series 5 final race on a very foggy Saturday. Both events delivered some outstanding racing from racers of all ages.

Saturday's GBR 5 kicked off with thick cloud and poor visibility, limiting racing to just one run of the main event alongside both runs for the Mini racers. Despite the challenging weather, the day concluded with the overall GBR Series awards ceremony, celebrating the end of another successful nationwide series.

Conditions improved significantly on Sunday for the British Alpine Dryslope Championships. With less cloud and brighter conditions, the racing field saw 150 competitors take to the slope in what was a highly competitive event.

Holly McKey and Lewis McKey emerged victorious overall, successfully defending their national titles from last year and further solidifying their dominance on the Scottish dryslope circuit.

Thanks go to Rossignol and Nairns for their continued sponsorship and support, as well as to the dedicated volunteers who made the weekend run so smoothly. From gatekeepers and office staff right up to the Chief of Race and technical, can we take this opportunity express our thanks for all your efforts.

Full results for both events are available on GBSki.

We now turn our heads to the Scottish Dryslope Championships at Hillend at the end of August - Entries will open soon!
