Scottish World Cup Roundup – Back-to-Back Weekends of Big Performances

Scottish athletes have been making their mark on the World Cup stage over the past two weekends, delivering standout performances across cross-country and freestyle disciplines.

Cross-Country Skiing

In the 20km Skiathlon, Andrew Musgrave showed his consistency on the big stage with a strong 13th-place finish, while teammate Gabe Gledhill continued to build experience, coming through in 65th.

The women’s Skiathlon saw two exciting World Cup debuts, with Tabitha Williams and Anna Pryce putting down determined performances to claim 51st and 55th respectively—an encouraging start to their senior international careers.

Sprint action followed, where Anna Pryce secured 53rd in the Sprint Classic, while James Clugnet crossed the line in 65th.

In the 10km Interval Start Free, Williams and Pryce were once again neck-and-neck, finishing 57th and 58th. On the men’s side, Musgrave took 53rd, with Gledhill in 68th, and Clugnet in 76th to round off another busy weekend of racing.

Freestyle Skiing

It has been an electric start to the season for Kirsty Muir, who put down two huge World Cup performances in as many weekends.

Last weekend, Muir secured her first career Big Air World Cup victory, posting a massive 174.50 to take the top spot in her season opener.

She followed it up this weekend with another incredible showing in Beijing. Despite a heavy crash in run two, Kirsty held her nerve to finish 4th, reclaiming the yellow leader’s bib.

Alongside Muir, Chris McCormick delivered some of his most technically demanding runs to date, with impressive switch right double 18 tail, earning 74.50 and finishing 26th.
