Scottish Para Athletes Shine in Early-Season Action Across Snow Sports
Landgraaf hosted the first Para Snowboard Banked Slalom races of the season, with two Scottish riders taking to the start gate in a competitive Europa Cup field.
Davy Zyw, competing in the Upper Limb category, produced some of the best runs of his career to date. His consistency and pace earned him 5th and 4th place finishes, an impressive start to his season.
Meanwhile, Nathan Carr made his return to snow for the first time since April. Despite the long break, Carr secured 17th and 16th place finishes, showing promising form as he builds toward peak condition.
Both athletes now turn their focus to the next Europa Cup event, set for Kuhtai, Austria, in January.
In Canada, Britain’s most decorated Para Nordic skier, Scott Meenagh, kicked off his World Cup campaign in the 10km Mass Start Classic (Sitting) event at Canmore.
Meenagh fought through a demanding field to secure a hard-earned 13th place, laying a solid foundation for the week ahead. He now prepares for three Para Biathlon World Cup events: the Sprint, Sprint Pursuit, and 12.5km Individual competitions.
With strong starts across both Para Snowboard and Para Nordic disciplines, Scotland’s athletes look poised for an exciting and competitive winter season.
