1. WATER PARKS WHERE THE FUN NEVER STOPS

Among the region’s biggest summer attractions are the famous water parks Tatralandia and Bešeňová. Both combine relaxation and entertainment for all ages, with thermal pools, seawater attractions, wave pools, tropical zones, giant slides and all-day animation programmes. Children stay entertained from morning to evening, while parents can fully relax.

2. DISCOVER WHAT’S NEW IN JASNÁ

Did you know Liptov is surrounded by three national parks? One of the most spectacular is Nízke Tatry National Park.

The mountain resort Jasná, best known for hosting World Cup ski events in winter, transforms into a summer adventure hub. Cable cars take visitors comfortably to panoramic mountain peaks, where they can enjoy scenic viewpoints and a giant bird’s nest swing – a perfect spot for unforgettable photos.

This summer, Jasná is also expanding its cycling offer with two new bike trails: one moderately difficult red trail (1.4 km) and one easy family-friendly route (2.4 km). Families can also look forward to a brand-new slide park featuring up to seven slides.

Liptovská Mara, often called the “small sea” of the region, is one of the area’s top summer destinations. Paddleboarding here is a must-try experience, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and countryside directly from the water.

Several popular beaches surround the reservoir, including one accessible by a free shuttle bus from Liptovský Mikuláš.

Cycling enthusiasts can also explore the themed route “In the Footsteps of Flooded Villages,” combining scenic landscapes, sporting experiences and fascinating local history.

4. FAMILY CYCLING ADVENTURES

Liptov offers numerous family-friendly cycling routes, but one of the favourites is the CykloKorytnička trail.

Starting in Ružomberok, the route follows the former narrow-gauge railway line leading to the spa village of Korytnica. Along the way, families discover the picturesque Revúca Valley while learning about the railway’s important role in the region’s history.
