Arnold Clark Backs Para Snowsports with New Coaching and Instructor Course Subsidy
Snowsport Scotland, in partnership with leading automotive retailer Arnold Clark, has launched a new funding initiative aimed at supporting the development of para and adaptive snowsport coaches, leaders, and instructors across the country.
This new funding opportunity is designed to remove barriers for individuals who wish to gain qualifications in para/adaptive snowsport disciplines, ensuring the continued growth and inclusivity of the sport across Scotland.
Arnold Clark's support will help cover course fees for selected candidates enrolling in any para or adaptive snowsport training course or course that will aid delivery to an adaptive skier/snowboarder e.g. sign language course. Applicants are invited to complete an application form detailing which course they wish to attend, their motivations for doing so, and how they plan to use their qualification upon completion. A short personal background is also requested to help assess each application on an individual basis.
The amount of funding awarded will be at the discretion of Snowsport Scotland and will vary depending on the applicant’s circumstances and the nature of the course.
“This partnership with Arnold Clark is a major step forward in making snowsports more accessible for everyone in Scotland,” says Alastair Nasmyth Para Snowboard Pathway Coach at Snowsport Scotland. “By investing in the training of coaches and instructors in para and adaptive disciplines, we’re not only growing the sport but also ensuring that it becomes more inclusive and representative of our diverse communities.”
The programme is open to new and existing coaches, leaders, and instructors who are passionate about making a difference in adaptive snowsport and contributing to its future in Scotland.
Snowsport Scotland encourages anyone with a commitment to inclusion and a desire to help others experience the thrill of snowsports to apply.
How to Apply:
