Scottish Park & Pipe 25/26 Selection Process Policy

Snowsport Scotland has released its 2025/26 Scottish Park & Pipe Team Selection Policy, outlining the criteria and process for aspiring freestyle skiers and snowboarders aiming to join the national team.

The Scottish Park & Pipe Team, and Scottish Park & Pipe Development Team are led by Snowsport Scotland supporting Scottish Park & Pipe athletes demonstrated to be on World Class performance trajectory to train, and where appropriate compete, in national and international environments for their Home Nation and GB.

Athletes selected to Scottish Park & Pipe Team are defined as having performance close to, or on-track toward, GB Snowsport squad selection, Scottish Park & Pipe Development Team athletes are trainees identified as having potential to transition into the Scottish Park & Pipe Team.

A selection committee comprising Snowsport Scotland's Park & Pipe Board Director (Chair), a Park & Pipe Committee Representative, Performance Coaches, and optionally the CEO and a GB Snowsports Representative, will evaluate candidates based on:

  • Technical park riding skills, considering age-related performance profiles.

  • Fundamental skiing or snowboarding abilities, focusing on edging, steering, posture, and balance.

  • Off-snow movements, including acrobatics, trampoline, gymnastics, and related freestyle sports like skateboarding or BMX.

  • Psychological attitude, commitment, and willingness to train both on and off the snow.

  • Fitness levels and the ability to maintain training intensity.

The policy emphasises transparency and fairness, requiring athletes to apply annually—there is no automatic re-selection.

The application window for the 2025/26 season is now open. For more information and to apply: Scottish Park & Pipe Team Selection Policy 2025-2026
