SNOWSPORT SCOTLAND STATEMENT ON UK SPORT INVESTMENT IN BRITISH SNOWSPORTS

Snowsport Scotland acknowledges today's announcement from UK Sport regarding the future delivery of its investment into British snowsports.

We welcome UK Sport's clear commitment to snowsport and, importantly, the confirmation that £12.5 million has been ringfenced to support athletes, coaches and performance programmes through to the Alpes 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Our immediate priority is to ensure that athletes and coaches continue to be supported and that the strong performance pathways which have contributed to the recent success of British snowsports are protected and strengthened.

Snowsport Scotland has a particular responsibility for developing Scottish athletes through the pathway towards international and World Class Programme success. We therefore welcome UK Sport's commitment to engage with the Home Country snowsport federations as it considers the future delivery model.

We will engage constructively in those discussions, working closely with UK Sport, sportscotland and our partners across British snowsports. Our focus will be on securing a sustainable and effective structure that supports athletes from pathway through to podium and builds on the outstanding performances achieved at Milano Cortina 2026.

"There will clearly now be important decisions about how that investment is channelled and delivered. Snowsport Scotland will play a constructive role in those discussions and will strongly represent the needs of Scottish athletes and the pathway that supports them.

"British snowsports has developed considerable momentum through the performances achieved at Milano Cortina. Our priority must now be to protect that momentum and support a performance structure capable of developing the next generation of athletes towards Alpes 2030 and beyond."
